What is the Businesses in Metaverse Program?

The "Businesses in Metaverse" program is a government initiative by MDEC in partnership with Youniverse Games Sdn. Bhd. to help Malaysian brands step into the next frontier of digital engagement - the metaverse. This incentivised program gives 200 Malaysian businesses the chance to establish a branded presence on Yooca, a homegrown 3D metaverse platform built for social interaction, gaming, and commerce.

  • Companies incorporated in Malaysia (under CA 1965/2016), 51% Malaysian-owned and active
  • Enterprises/Sole-proprietorships/Partnerships under appropriate laws, 51% Malaysian-owned and active
  • Limited Liability Partnerships under LLP Act 2012, 51% Malaysian-owned and active
  • Applicant is not a common shareholder in the Yooca platform provider
  • Must be legal brand owner

Any Malaysian company, enterprise, sole-proprietorship, partnership or LLP that is registered with SSM (or Sabah/Sarawak local government), active, majority Malaysian-owned (51% or more), and has some level of social media presence is eligible. A company is classified as "majority Malaysian-owned" if the company is more than 51% owned by other Malaysian-registered compan(ies) and/or Malaysian citizen(s).

No, the packages are 100% incentivised (worth up to RM10,000) for all packages apart from Package 5. Only Package 5: Branded Game Experience requires a incentivised contribution of RM5,000 for selected brands.

Each brand can only apply for one package under this program. Please select the one that best aligns with your goals (e.g., brand awareness, product sales, gamified engagement).

No problem! Our team and partner creators will create the 3D assets (store, wearable, mascot, etc.) for you - all included as part of the package you select.

You'll need to provide your brand info, images, product/service details, and feedback during development via our brand owner panel. We'll handle the technical and creative execution.

You can choose Package 2: Experience Centre, Package 4: Brand Mascot or Package 5: Branded Game Experience, which are designed for brand awareness, storytelling, and education, without requiring sales.

Only 200 Malaysian businesses will be selected. If we receive more, we'll choose those who are most likely to benefit from the program - such as those targeting Gen Z/Alpha and/or with strong brand potential.

All applicants will be notified via email from 1st August 2025 onwards.

Yes, you are allowed to revise your application up to the submission closing date at 11:59pm, 17th July 2025.

Yes! After 31st December 2026, you may opt to renew your experience with a small annual maintenance fee if you'd like to keep it live in the Yooca platform.

Social media presence is encouraged (even basic Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok pages), but it's not a strict requirement. However, brands with an existing following may be prioritised for selection.

Yes. You'll get access to real-time engagement stats such as time spent, total users, returnability, user actions, quiz scores and purchases - via the brand owner panel.

Yes. If you sell items priced in YouniDollars (premium currency), you can cash out your earnings once your balance exceeds 1,000 YouniDollars (100 YouniDollar = USD1.00). A 30% platform fee applies.

You're a great fit for Package 2: Experience Centre, Package 4: Brand Mascot or even Package 5: Branded Game Experience, which are designed for non-retail businesses looking to build awareness, educate, or influence.

Yes. All accepted experiences will be featured in Yooca for one year, with press coverage, influencer campaigns, streamers, and social media efforts to drive traffic and visibility. Also, each of the 200 businesses will be posting and shouting out their Yooca metaverse experience when it's launched. So, the combined social buzz and publicity will help drive more users to your experience.

This depends on the package you choose. For example, Package 3 allows up to 5 x 3D products, while others like the Experience Centre allow multiple display panels, brand videos, and info panels.
